From the Principal
Dear families,
Our whole school excursion to Waterworld was a great success! Every child had a positive experience and it provided an excellent opportunity for our Learning Advisors and co-educators to see our learners in a different light. Thank you to all staff for making the day a success.
On Thursday, our Governing Council met for the first time for 2025. We are privileged to have returning members take on the office bearing roles:
Margaret Diop: Chairperson
Carol Martin: Secretary
Gill Singh: Treasurer
We would love to have more members! If representing our families interests you, please call into the school to let us know.
We have started 2025 with a focus on building a culture of belonging. We want every child to experience a sense of belonging and safety in their studio. Every Learning Advisor has ensured that their studio is free from clutter, has routines displayed and that the furniture has been updated. This is making an enormous difference to our learners and to their learning.
Learning Advisors have also been re-designing the common areas so that they are safe, welcoming and have spaces for learning to be displayed and celebrated. Look at these photos from the Yellow neighbourhood:

Student Free Day On Monday 24th March (week 9), we will have our first Student Free Day for the year. All staff will be engaged with professional learning around Inclusive Practices. OSHC will be open.
NAPLAN. Our Year 3 & Year 5 learners will participate in NAPLAN during March. NAPLAN tests children’s skills in literacy and numeracy and these tests inform us about our teaching and areas we may need to focus on for learners. We encourage all Year 3 & 5 learners to try their best and give it a go.
If you have any questions about your child’s learning, please do not hesitate to ask us.
Warm wishes,
Leonie
