From the Principal
Dear families,
Phew! Term 3 has been a big one! This week we have reflected on all of the learning experiences throughout the term. We have seen many examples of resilience, grit, curiosity and challenge. Our Team Time today highlighted some of these. Please enjoy the photos of learning below as a snapshot of our term.
Students as Researchers:
A group of our learners have been participating in the Students as Researchers initiative with many of our partnership schools. Our learners have been particularly interested in resilience and why some learners do not engage in their learning at BANB6. Their key questions were:
- Is the learning too hard?
- Do they struggle forming relationships with the people around them?
- Do they understand the purpose of the learning?
We look forward to their continued investigation into this. Watch this space for their insights!
Reading and Maths assessments:
For the last few weeks, each learner from year 3 to year 6 has completed a reading and maths assessment. These tests give us valuable information about where each learner is at and how we can support their learning. The test period ends today, and we will look into the results early next term. If you would like to know more about your child’s progress in reading and maths, please contact your child’s Learning Advisor.
Afternoon pick up from school:
We understand the difficulties in parking outside of the school each afternoon. You may find that the back of the school (on Stanley St) is a more convenient place to meet your child after school. Our staff car park is not available for parent parking.
DreamBig Children’s Festival:
Congratulations again to Fidak whose artwork is featured by the DreamBig Children’s Festival this year. It has been very exciting to see Fidak’s artwork splashed across Adelaide. Here is the final design:

I wish all families and staff a relaxing and reinvigorating break over the coming two weeks. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 14th October.
