From the Principal
Dear families,
It has been excellent to see the range and richness of learning that is occurring right across the school. The Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden lessons have commenced with all learners engaged in both the garden and the kitchen. During PE, learners are focusing on their personal best, and many are exceeding their own goals. STEM lessons have focussed on coding and designing games which is proving fascinating for many learners. Our music studio has hosted high numbers of Hip Hop auditions and the Glee Club has attracted quite a number of potential performers!
Keep an eye on our Facebook page and Seesaw for updates about these learning experiences. The QR code to join our Facebook page is included in this newsletter.
Visit from Office for Early Childhood Development
This week, we were very privileged to host a visit from Kim Little, Chief Executive of the Office of Early Childhood Development. Kim and her team will enact the recommendations in the recent Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care, including recommendations such as access to preschool for 3-year-olds. We were very proud to be one of the first preschools that were recommended to be visited in South Australia by this team. We are looking forward to further involvement with the Office for Early Childhood Development (OECD).

Behind The News episode – Sun Safety
Today, ABC’s Behind The News (BTN) interviewed a number of our Year 5 and 6 learners for an upcoming episode on Sun Safety. Seeing and being part of the making of a television show was valuable learning for these students. If you would like to see the episode, it will go live on Tuesday 27th February at 10am, on ABC, ABC YouTube and ABC iview.
Waterworld
On Friday 8th March (Week 6), all studios from Reception – Year 6 will go on an excursion to Waterworld. Please sign and return the consent forms so that your children can join us for this day. Just a reminder that buses will leave at 9am on this day, so children will need to arrive at school by 8.50am.
